The German kitchen manufacturer, Siematic is a globally-recognized brand most known for its unique kitchen designs and forward-thinking concepts— including recognition as the inventor of the handle-free kitchen. Therefore it’s only natural that in its 90th anniversary year the Westphalian kitchen manufacturer should also focus on the new interpretation of the handle-free kitchen. The new SieMatic SLX PURE kitchen concept has been welcomed with enormous enthusiasm by dealers and customers around the world. It even took out the “Innovative Interior” accolade at the Iconic Awards 2020 earlier this year. So what does the kitchen concept that sets standards to look like?
At the heart of the new concept lies the re-designed recessed grip combined with the delicate proportions of just 6.5 millimeters. The perfect angle, the pleasing structure of the handle channel, the refined materials bring tactile properties to the forefront— and precisely what makes this kitchen such an eye-catcher, too.
It is individually controllable in terms of light temperature and brightness. The LED light has a direct influence on the atmosphere of the room—and on your mood. The light strips can set visual accents both horizontally and vertically. They unfold their full effect when combined with dark colors such as the matt lacquer in graphite gray.
The incredible lightness in the design also finds its special expression in the glass showcases with the floating drawers suspended on the rear wall.
The surfaces, the interlocking edges, the angle, and the play of shapes reminiscent of the recessed grips are a testament to the harmonious combination of mechanical production and manual skill. The pull-outs look seamless when closed—a representation of the workmanship of the new Siematic SLX PURE. Not to mention, inside is a complex life where little useful things find their place including the noble silverware.
The kitchen and living area merge thanks to transparent doors and side walls and the variably placeable glass shelves. With the filigree aluminum frames in anodized black matt, gold bronze, or stainless steel colored inox as well as the sensitively used lighting elements, they become the jewel of the room.
A range of matt and glossy color palates are also available thanks to the Siematic ColorSystem—meaning the kitchen you create is truly your own. The popular color white allows for even more individual expression. Contrast pebble gray matt with smoked oak veneer and a bright worktop bench for a truly sophisticated look
The jury of prominent experts at the Iconic Awards offered the following reasons for its decision: “The SieMatic SLX PURE impresses with clear lines and great proportions Cleverly integrated light lets the worktop float in the air, further enhancing the impression of elegance and high quality. Worth mentioning here is also the recessed grips which, as a design element, additionally underline the extraordinary design standards.”
However, this isn’t the only accolade awarded to the Siematic SLX PURE. It was also selected as the winner of the 2020 Red Dot Award for Product Design and took home the iF Design Award 2020—people are calling it a hat trick.
