Over the past 100 years, Bassett McNab has become synonymous with enduring appeal and relaxed luxury. The brand is best known for its traditional florals, chinoiserie, and classic toiles that adorned many homes in the twentieth century. The brand now introduces the Signature collection, a celebration of blooming botanicals, tailored trend-wear, and textured woven fabrics with soft, cheerful, and sun-washed colorways. The Spring/Summer 2021 launch follows its recent brand relaunch, building upon updated, archived designs that evoke a feeling of relaxed luxury.

Consisting of nine patterned and woven fabrics, each in two to seven colorways, totaling 42 SKUs. Every design reflects a longing for warm, breezy days with a dash of nostalgia. The collection includes an intricately embroidered Tropical pattern that harkens back to the 1980s with its contrast of brightly colored threads against a black ground fabric. “The colors of Signature are those of the morning sky, clear and crisp, growing in the morning sun with a soft brightness,” says Anne Hahn-Waddell, Bassett McNab creative director. “Like ‘Origins’, this second collection establishes the handwriting, the signature of the brand: clean and modern with classic origins.”

The color stories tell a tale of warm and light-filled spring days, with shades of leafy greens, sky blues reflective of environments in peak bloom. The designs marry approachability with style and sophistication that feel both timeless and nostalgic. While the brand may pull at childhood chintz memories, it’s now paving the way for the next generation of memorable classics.

Founded in 1894, Bassett McNab was acquired by Stout Textiles in 2019, a fabric, wallpaper, and drapery hardware brand servicing the interior design industry. Based in Colmar, Pennsylvania, Stout is one of the American interior design industry’s oldest family-owned companies, now operating under the fourth generation of leadership. The company’s acquisition brought an impressive merger of the iconic traditional florals, chinoiserie, and classic toiles with Stout’s finesse and expertise in upholstery grade fabric. Stout designs both open and exclusive lines of textiles under three brand umbrellas: Stout, Bassett McNab, and Marcus William.
